If you looking for World’s Oldest Optical Illusion, we can find it on Wikipedia easily. But I am bringing you a very unique one of oldest Optical Illusion in the world which can be found in Southern Part of India.
As per we know, India is very famous for it’s rich cultural background and ancient heritages. The “AIRAVATESVARA” temple is among the Tri-Great Chola Temples of India, stand even today. In 11th century and 12th century AD, those Hindu temples were constructed by the 1,500-year long Chola dynasty. If we find it today, we will see it in Tamil Nadu State, exactly in Darasuram The Airavatesvara Temple was built by King Rajaraja Chola II. This temple is dedicated to God “Shiva”.
Eight and a half century went off. But it remains as a prime surviving example of the Greatness of Chola architecture and it’s very owned craftsmanship. Beside everything, my attention went this as this temple hold one of the world’s oldest optical illusions even blow your mind today. Hard rocks have been crafted as a piece of butter under very unique craftsmanship and our masterpiece is among that stone carvings. A question will rise A Bull or A Big Brother? Otherwise an Elephant and a Bull?
Nicely crafted beautiful majestic Elephant body and nicely shaped Old big bull body shared one unique master head complex. It contain both in one merged or overlapped.
Just go and stand in front of this carving. Tune your eyes and focus your mind to the animal from your left hand side. You will see a crazy laughing complete bull. Just forget it for a while and see from your right hand side. You will see a majestic elephant or tusker. I said tusker as it have tusk. you will see a complete elephant, including a trunk. Further some reports says this is one of the most well-preserved carvings when consider with contemporary carvings in Vijaya Vittala Temple in Hampi as well as very famous Rameshwaram Temple in the Rameshwaram Islands.
According to the Principles of Hinduism, it is the half-male, half-female (Ardhanarishvara) representation of Lord Shiva. Generally, these all based on Hindu mythologies. However, I don’t prefer the word “Mythology” as we cannot category anything as myths. All religions, all philosophies are myths from others view. No Philosophy or religion can be categorized as the truth of world as some claimed so.
