How Greek Islands became a brand in tourism

Greek Queen Fredrica and King Paul the first of Greek

As per I learnt, Santorini has the World’s most popular hotel according to the reviews. All these made possible as that amazing structures made this place so unique. In the first place, these buildings didn’t make blue and white for an aesthetic reason. In the first place, they painted this for military purposes. The second reason is they used some limestone as per instructions of rulers to get rid of a deadly pandemic. The fourth Reason comes from a Greek queen. Greek Ruler King Paul the first got a great German wife Queen Frederica of Hanover. She noticed this in the 1940s and she decided to use this uniqueness to promote Greece as a tourism hotspot. Her effort which came around 1954, made The Santorini and Greek Islands World Famous. If you ask the majority of travellers, most of them will tell you that they have planned to visit Greek Island or they have already visited there. Yes. Greek Islands are the number 1 tourist destination in the World at least in my point of view.

Why Pirates became a reason for those White and Blue wash in Santorini or Mykonos?

The Last and the obvious reason for these White and Blue identical buildings are really blowing my mind. As per some folk stories and legends, these buildings have been painted identically to mislead pirates. In past, these areas were fishing villages. Those fishermen painted their homes white to avoid sun heat as sunlight highly reflecting by white colour instead of getting in the hot bright sun.

And they painted the windows and doors with leftovers after they painted their boats. If a pirate or gang enter the city, they just became confused as every street, every direction and every house looks similar.

However, these houses are a blessing to the Greek Economy. Instead of fishing, now these people enjoy the best time with tourists and modernized ancient white and blue houses as hotels.

There are lots of AirBnBs and hotels that you can choose from with wide varieties. My suggestion does not stick with the budget if you plan to visit Greek Island. Try to maximize your trip by knowing what to expect by watching tons of YouTube content.
