Six Caribbean Countries and UAE in the latest CDC “USA Avoid Travel” list

Hence the hard part of Winter arrives, many US citizens are seeking an easy getaway. Southern USA and Central America are among the most affordable winter getaways. Caribbean Islands are really affordable and accessible to US citizens at no time.

As a precautionary step, CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of USA) gave 15 countries new Level 4 travel health notices, including the tropical islands of

  1. Jamaica
  2. St. Barthelemy
  3. St. Martin
  4. Guadeloupe
  5. Dominican Republic
  6. Costa Rica – The Nature Lover’s Paradise

These are the other Nine countries are on the list. (See below)

  1. Colombia
  2. Fiji
  3. Kuwait
  4. Mongolia
  5. Niger
  6. Peru
  7. Romania
  8. United Arab Emirates
  9. Tunisia.

As of now, 116 countries around the world are at Level 4 on the CDC’s Covid risk map. That’s up from 88 just before the Christmas holidays.

However, many countries on the CDC’s map are experiencing lower levels of infection than the United States, which has also been shaded dark red for much of the pandemic. The U.S. is currently recording 223 new daily cases per 100,000 over a rolling seven-day average, according to the Covid-19 tracker from the Brown School of Public Health. That translates to over 6,000 new daily cases per 28 days per 100,000 people, which is more than 12 times the CDC’s threshold for Level 4 travel health notice.

Yesterday, we reported that a Caribbean Cruising Ship was diverted to the Bahamas instead of their original destination Miami due to a federal court order to seize the ship. You can read that story by clicking here.
