“Enigma” the Biggest Black Diamond on Earth came from Outer Space? Enigma Outer Space Black Diamond Set to Auction in February.

In February, one of its kind rare and giant Black Diamond will be racked for an auction in London. Starting bid would be more than $7 million USD. The diamond was unveiled last week by Emirati auction house Sotheby’s Dubai. They have further noted that this natural giant black gem may have come from outer space. It has been named after the famous Nazi cypher machine “Enigma”. Diamond is the strongest natural mineral on Earth. And Black Diamonds are the strongest diamond among all sorts of Diamond.

The Enigma, which has been cut to weigh exactly 555.55 carats and has 55 facets, is believed to be the largest cut black diamond in the world.

“The shape of the diamond is based on the Middle-Eastern palm symbol of the Khamsa, which stands for strength and it stands for protection,” jewellery specialist Sophie Stevens says to the Associated Press. Because Khamsa means five in Arabic, “there’s a nice theme of the number five running throughout the diamond,” she says.

“Enigma” was at display in Dubai and scheduled to travel to Los Angeles, USA. After the US visit, the stone will be transported to London as its final destination before meeting the new lucky and proud owner. There will be an online auction in February. Sotheby’s says they expect the diamond to fetch at least 5 million British pounds—around $6.8 million USD, because of its unusual colour, shape, and weight.

The “Enigma” diamond will be open for bidding online from February 3 to 9, and Sotheby’s will also accept cryptocurrency payments, per CNN’s Isabelle Jani-Friend.

In my point view, the key selling point of this diamond is its mysterious cosmic origin. According to a press release from the auction house, the Enigma is “thought to have been created either from a meteoric impact or having actually emerged from a diamond-bearing asteroid that collided with Earth.”

Some diamond experts refuse to believe outer space theory. they believe that Enigma could have originated on Earth. Black diamonds get their spooky hue from high levels of minerals like graphite that cloud the stone. The Enigma is likely a specific type of black diamond known as a carbonado diamond that appears much darker than other black diamonds because of its light-absorbing structure. South America and Central Africa are the famous places for these types of rare diamonds. But, this diamond is unique from other ordinary black carbonado diamonds. Some theorize that the stone was formed 4 billion years ago under the surface of Earth.

Whether it came from Space or the Core of Earth, we will never know. Space is a much closer and known place to humans than the core of our own Mother Earth and the deep bottom of our own oceans.
