New “One-Hand Bag” Rule in Delhi Airport

Delhi Airport has imposed a new rule to limit One-Hand Bag or Hand Carry Luggage per passenger.

Capital of India, Delhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport has inroudced a new rule to domestic passengers. So, domestic air travellers are allowed to carry no more than One Hand Bag or One Hand Carry Luggage. There are some exceptions to the rule to facilitate some special requirements of passengers.

Delhi airport officials have been informed about this advisory by the Central Indusrial Security Force (CISF) and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). So domestic passengers are allowed to carry one piece of hand-carry as “Cabin Baggage”.

There are some exclusions. There are some examples of exclusions from this limit.

  • Ladies Hand Bag
  • An overcoat or a wrap
  • A Ruge or blanket
  • A camera
  • A laptop bag
  • A pair of binoculars
  • A reasonable amount of reading materials
  • Infant’s feed carry basket when an infant is carried
  • An umbrella or Walking stick
  • Collapsible wheelchair or crutches
  • Braces for passengers who use it
  • Gifts purchased at duty-free shops

These types of incidents will be excluded from the rule. This measure has been taken as passengers are travelling with 2-3 cabin pieces of baggage which make an extra effort, time and mess at security screening.
