DaVinci Code was one of the best selling book and one of the most controversial movies produced in Hollywood in recent history.
As the original idea or the concept was owned by Dan Brown, let’s understand Dan Brown.
Did you know that Dan Brown is an agnostic?
He was raised as an Episcopalian, and described his religious evolution in a 2009 interview: “I was raised Episcopalian, and I was very religious as a kid. Then, in eighth or ninth grade, I studied astronomy, cosmology, and the origins of the universe.”
So his understanding of God, the Universe and Religion are completely different from that ordinary religious person. As there is a trend in modern society to say that they are not believing in religious teaching, Dan’s first hit DaVinci Code impressed the trendy youth.
Other than producing a trendy art piece, it was great news to hear that Dan Brown wrote his book/s as he is really passionate about extraordinary views over religion and history itself.
The Best thing in his all series including DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons as well as Inferno, he didn’t stick with his academic outlook and he stepped into a more dramatic story. That’s why I believe that he is a great author.
What is the DaVinci Code?
When this book came out and the movie as well, I was a kid. As a Roman Catholic since birth, I was never encouraged to look at this book or movie. Some of the priests that I heard from Sunday Mass, described this movie as a pathetic attention-seeking attempt. And some claimed that it is easy to attack Universally accepted things like Jesus or Catholic Church to get the full benefit of negative marketing to increase sales.
Even though those things seem legit claims, I am happy to give the full credit for a beautiful art piece to Dan Brown after I went through it more than one time in his works.
If you never dare to have a look at DaVinci Code, I am inviting you to watch it even if you are a good Catholic.
Many people saw DaVinci Code as a Criticism or hateful story against Jesus or the Church. But I could see lots of applause from the artists at the same time.
Dan Brown is talking about some Bad sides of the Church while shining up some bright light to encourage open-minded Catholics like me to improve our faith and the trust in the church as well. DaVinci Code is a Double-Edge Sword. But I strongly believe that in addition to being an art masterpiece, DaVinci Code made my faith stronger than before as a Roman catholic.
Someone will raise their concern that why I am explaining the DaVinci Code in the view of Roman Catholics, instead of the general readers. That’s because the DaVinci Code was considered an insult to Catholic Church in some people’s minds. So, I am praising this work while sitting on the far-critic side.
Was Professor Robert Langdon a non-believer?
Once one of my friends asked me, what is my opinion about DaVinci Code. Did Jesus have a wife actually? Did Jesus appoint Mary Magdalen as the leader to continue our church tradition?
I had a very simple and straightforward answer. And I believe I was standing with Professor Robert Langdon. According to my point of view, Professor Robert Langdon was not what he showed in public. That character shows us his deep insight. So, I believe I was in the same position as Langdon. Landon says he is not a believer, but still he is not so sure about this statement. I claimed that I am a believer, but I am standing the same uncertain line as Langdon does. As I believe that God may differ from our orchestrated nature of God.
So, I simply replied to my Friend… Having a wife or staying single is something that will never affect Jesus’s teaching and his fundamentals in Love. So I don’t care.
I found a similar Angels and Demons story while I was vlogging. Not the same, but a place where once home to Demons and now a place for Angels.
Have a look…
