10 Effective Tips to Distance Yourself from Negative Energy and Toxic People

Not everyone in your life will carry positive energy that uplifts you or themselves, and that’s okay. While I believe in treating everyone equally and welcoming them with kindness, some individuals bring a significant amount of negative energy. It’s important to recognise that you don’t have to surround yourself with such energy. Unless the person in question is your legally married spouse, you can take steps to reduce the negative impact they have on your life.

Unfortunately, if that person is your legal spouse, things will be so complicated and you will find help from professional therapy. If you are a person who carries negative energy, you can convert yourself to a positive energy powerhouse pretty much all the time.

Even though you are born into a family and you have siblings, parents, cousins and friends, you are the most important person to you. And some aspects, your success is important for those loved ones as well. So, you may need to make some harsh decisions if you happen to be surrounded by negative energy people in your household. In the other case, friends, co-workers, bosses or team members might be the negative person who you need to get away from. In those cases, you need to carefully take actions that don’t harm your career.

1) Stay Positive and Be grateful for every bit of things you have in your hand. – Negative people often complain no matter what kind of situation. As long as you are grateful for everything you have, probably the people who complain about things will try to keep their mouths shut or avoid complaining about conversations with you.

2) Direct or Dull approach – Whenever you are invited to have a conversation about their negative perspective, try two things depending on the situation. First, you can directly dismiss the opinion if the person won’t be so hostile over you. If the person is so hostile to you, always you can take the conversation with a dull approach. You just react with the least interesting vibe. No matter what, no matter how powerful the person is in your life, they cannot cheer you up by force. So, you can always ignore the negative conversation with a dull approach.

3) Involve a third party – If the person who always brings up the negative energy to the mood can be involved with a third person, try to do that. That third person might be helpful to keep the conversation general rather than a hard negative approach.

4) Avoid the person – If you feel that a specific person brings up a negative energy always, try to avoid them as much as possible. Keep the limited and essential contacts. You don’t need to show a hostile behaviour. Just simply limited the interaction. Whenever you conduct the essential contacts, do not forget to bring up a positive energy in talk before doing the essential interactions.

5) Share the positive energy – Instead of avoiding, you give extra positive energy in conversations and interactions everywhere. This is the most successful way to volunteer them to avoid you. Negative energy people easily get offended by positive energy. First, they will try to overpower you in conversations. In the second step, they will get angry. When you don’t give up, they will avoid you voluntarily.

6) Use your space as a shield – Your working spot, home, bedroom or where you sit often can be converted into your positive powerhouse. Fill your space with positive vibe things. Keep your things very well organized, clean and pretty. Arrange your phone, laptop, and social media accounts filled with positive content. Your natural vibe easily rejects negative people.

7) Keep yourselves refreshed – This is also a powerful method. Try to keep yourselves clean, organized, and pretty as much as possible. Dress neat, wear some fragrances, do some elegant fashions and present yourself as a positive energy hub. Then, most negative thinkers avoid you.

8) The hardest moment is the essential moment – For example, I had a very bad time by the end of 2015 and 2016 and 2017 years weren’t the best for me. But, someday in 2017, I started to take real actions to make myself positive. It started in 2016 and yet it became my life passion in 2017. In 2017, not much had been improved. But, When I checked my Facebook memories, I could see that I was in a good positive hopeful mood in those times. It started to change and became who I am today. End of the day, it is not about my story or me. It’s all about you. If you can stay positive in the darkest hour, you have received the guarantee of overcoming hard times. If you are a religious person like me, It’s much easier to depend on God’s plan.

9) Invite to celebrate the positivity – Negative people hardly see any good in any situation. However, you need to invite them for good things and celebrations. Probably they won’t come. But, still, you need to invite them and try to show them the good side of life. However, you need to be very careful as sometimes they will make a bad situation in a good mood. Still, it’s worth to invite them for good occasions, then they will not try to cover you with their negative energy.

10) Last but not least, try to convert them into a positive vibe – Wherever I learnt about “How to deal with Negative people”, I was told not to try this as a time waste. The reason is, that it is hard to convert bitter people to sweet. But, I believe it is worth giving it a try. However, you need to be very careful with them as they will do anything to prove that life is miserable and bad. So, try to bring joy to self-consuming negativity with precaution.

I am requesting everyone not to take this article as a typical stereotype. Even though we are not ready to accept, some people carry negative bad luck with them. Often they are not the best people according to any kind of religion as well. Reason; The religion or God is always coming with the hope of goodness. But the people who carry negative energy often truly hate the hope of goodness.
